Global Macro Economics - Full Day

Course Introduction

This course will take a potted history to the current economic environment – from the history of money through to crypto – and then examining the market reactions to the Global Financial Crisis of 2007/8 to Covid in 2020/1 and the current MAGA administration in the US. Along the way, delegates will learn about the various financial instruments and policies and some of the unintended consequences of these interventions. The course will conclude with a view to the future and where the economy (might) be going.

Understanding the ‘big picture’ is a key requirement for any aspiring business profession. This workshop aims to help delegates to ‘join-the-dots’ with various economic factors, examining the relationship between inflation, interest rates and asset prices as well as understanding the impact of government and central bank intervention.
